Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Gui Congyou’s Congratulatory Message at the 2019 Grand Prix of Nations Gothenburg and 4th European Choir Games to the Organising committee;
He said On behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Sweden, I would like to extend sincere greetings and best wishes to the Organising Committee, artists, cast and staff members of the Grand Prix of Nations Gothenburg 2019 and 4th European Choir Games and the World Choir Events in the Belt & Road – China Day.
On the basis of previous events, the Grand Prix of Nations held the World Choir Events in the Belt & Road, China Day for the first time, integrating the Silk Road Spirit into the world choir events.
The Belt & Road Initiative, with policy, infrastructure, trade, financial, and people-to-people connectivity as its main goals, is a road for win-win cooperation to achieve common development and prosperity, as well as a road of peace and friendship to enhance understanding and trust and to strengthen all-round communication.
People-to-people connectivity is the deepest, most enduring, and most basic aspect of the five goals. Communication of the mind requires a common language.
Music knows no national borders and can serve as the language for people-to-people exchanges; it can travel through time and space and can clear the soul; it can eliminate the barriers and enable people to achieve mutual benefits through mutual trust.
My thanks go to the Organising Committee for building a platform for musicians and audience from various countries to communicate with music, and for using the natural link between music and the Belt & Road Initiative and displaying to the world the Silk Road Spirit of peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefits.
I hope that artists from all over the world will display their talents and cultivate friendship on this stage, so that their respective cultures will continue to enrich and develop amid exchanges.
I hope the audience will enjoy rich and colourful artistic experience and cultural nutrition in this dialogue of global cultures. I hope that people from all over the world will work together to promote harmony and build a community with a shared future for humanity.
