The Silk Road Health Forum, part of the 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE), was held in Shanghai on Saturday, focusing on global health issues and especially solutions to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Guests of the forum expressed their appreciation for the measures China has taken against the epidemic and the support it has given to other countries, and recognized that China’s economy has taken the lead in recovery from the epidemic.
“Well, obviously, the measures have been very effective because the numbers are down and this is on the basis of the Chinese government taking measures based on science,” said Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, Malaysia’s Ambassador to China.

“We have a very good cooperation and we are thankful to China, we are very grateful. Because Chinese government sent a team of doctors, very experienced doctors from Wuhan to Serbia and they spent six weeks in advising Serbian medical authorities about the measures to be undertaken concerning the combating of the coronavirus.
And we are very grateful and also for the donation that the Chinese government, but also companies and individuals,” said Ivan Kandijas, minister counselor of the Serbian Embassy in China.
According to the consul general of consulate general of Chile in Shanghai, Chile’s exports to China rose to take 36 percent of its total exports during the pandemic, and the number is increasing.
“Actually China showed a very strong economy and that means for us a very good thing because we are able to continue to export to China. China is a growing economy, is a very receiving economy, because even in this time of the COVID virus, China is still growing and this is very good for us,” said Claudio Garrido, the consul general.
Former senior politicians of some countries, diplomatic envoys to China and experts and scholars at home and abroad also put forward suggestions on how to strengthen cooperation in health and in the joint construction of the Belt & Road at the Forum.
