Chinese President Xi Jinping said China stands ready to work with Argentina to promote high-quality Belt & Road Cooperation and advance the building of a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind.

China attaches great importance to bilateral ties, Xi said in a recent exchange of letters with Argentine President Alberto Fernandez, urging concerted efforts to sustain and deepen the development of the China-Argentina comprehensive strategic partnership.

President Xi stressed that the two countries have reached important consensus on deepening bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation in the fight against COVID-19.

In the face of the pandemic, the Chinese and Argentine people helped each other in times of difficulty, and the traditional friendship between the two countries has been enhanced in the battle against the pandemic.

China is ready to strengthen cooperation with Argentina in vaccine development and use, and continue to provide assistance within its capacity for Argentina’s fight against the pandemic, President Xi said.

For his part, President Fernandez spoke highly of the development of bilateral relations and China’s achievements in the fight against COVID-19 and thanked China for its support to Argentina in fighting the pandemic.

Fernandez said that in the face of the pandemic, all countries should show solidarity, respect and support each other, and commit themselves to build the community with a shared future for mankind.

China has achieved its poverty alleviation targets on schedule and made remarkable achievements in science and technology, which have benefited both the Chinese people and the whole mankind, he said.

Both Argentina and China advocate multilateralism, inter-state dialogue, and regional dialogue, so as to realize harmonious development

The Belt & Road Initiative is conducive to deepening connectivity and mutual understanding between the two countries. Argentina is ready to strengthen cooperation with China in vaccine and other fields, and push for greater development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, President Fernandez said.
