Myanmar’s State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi will pay a working visit to China and attend the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held from Thursday to Saturday in Beijing, according to an Official announcement Sunday.

It will be Aung San Suu Kyi’s fourth trip to China since her National League for Democracy (NLD) took power in April 2016. In September 2018, Myanmar formed a 27-member Steering Committee for Implementation of Tasks relating to BRI, Chaired by Aung San Suu Kyi.

The Committee was responsible for implementing the establishment of the Myanmar-China economic corridor and Myanmar-China border economic cooperation zone under the BRI.
