China-Europe Freight Train carrying 42 Carriages of goods departed from Railway Terminal in Nanjing City of East China’s Jiangsu Province on Wednesday, Nanjing has gradually developed into a significant hub along the Belt & Road Route.
This Freight Train marked a milestone of transporting 30,000 Carriages by the Freight Train which departed from the City Station.
The Freight Train, with a destination in Russia will exit China through Manzhouli Port in North China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
Presently, Nanjing has operated two routes for China-Europe freight trains with three to four runs on a weekly basis, heading to Asia and Europe, respectively.
The freight trains transport cargoes in a point-to-point mode, with duration for reloading and arrangement shortened by one-fifth compared with the traditional transportation modes, which are both time-saving and cost-effective.
The China-Europe Freight Train starting in Nanjing has become one of the important channels of foreign trade in the Yangtze River Delta.
When the shipping and air transport operations were adversely affected in past turbulent year, the operations of China-Europe freight trains from Nanjing maintained stable and even gained a slight increase over the same period last year.
