A seminar focusing on connecting China and Egypt through the belt and road initiative was held in Cairo at the 50th international book fair.

The seminar, named, “belt and road Initiative: linking Beijing and Cairo was attended by a number of experts who highlighted the achievements that have been carried out under the programme .

Former Egyptian Prime Minister, Essam Sharaf, delivered a speech at the seminar in which he said Chinese led initiative offers a great platform for the strengthening of International ties.

Experts say, the Belt and Road project has greatly enhanced communication and boosted the development of many fields worldwide.

Sharaf also said the new silk road follows three major routes: the first passes through Russia, the second crosses through Central Asia, and the third runs along the Suez Canal to Europe.

The Belt and Road Initiative, launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013, has offered a major outlet towards improving the life of people around the world.
