This year marks the 64th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China & Nepal.
To celebrate, an exhibition featuring photos, paintings and other artworks of Nepal was unveiled at the Art Gallery of International Culture Exchange in Beijing on August 1, 2019.
Entitled “Magnificence of Culture and Landscape along the Belt & Road,” the exhibition co-hosted by the Nepalese Embassy in China and the China International Culture Exchange Center, will run until August 7, 2019.
Addressing the event, Leela Mani Paudyal, Nepal’s Ambassador to China, said Nepal and China enjoyed excellent bilateral relations built on mutual trust, mutual benefit and cooperation.
“China and Nepal are as closely linked as lips and teeth. The cooperation has made great contributions to Nepal’s socio-economic development, including the fields of infrastructure construction, communication, health care, and education,” he said, adding that Nepal is looking forward to meaningful future cooperation, especially under the BRI framework.
He also reiterated Nepal’s commitment to the one-China policy, pledging never to allow anti-Chinese activates to occur on its soil.
The Ambassador said the photo exhibition would contribute to further deepening the age-old bilateral ties.
On the occasion, Wang Xuejun, Deputy Secretary General of the China International Culture Exchange Center, said cultural exchanges kept on narrowing the distance between the two nations and he hoped the exhibition would provide a further window on the culture and life of Nepali people for Chinese people.
More than 100 guests, including Chinese government officials, Foreign Diplomats in China and artists from the two countries, attended the opening ceremony.
