Chinese State Councilor & Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin on Thursday in Moscow, Russia. The Two Ministers met on the sidelines of a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

During their talks, Wang said the two countries’ relations have entered a new stage, facing a broad prospect of development. As a comprehensive strategic partner of Tajikistan, China firmly supports Tajikistan in taking the development road best suited to its national conditions.

China firmly supports Tajikistan in defending its Sovereignty & Security, and in invigorating its economy. China strongly opposes any external forces in interfering in Tajikistan’s Internal Affairs.

On the International arena, Wang said China and Tajikistan will continue to support each other and safeguard each other’s common interests.

The Chinese Foreign Minister said that after the epidemic broke out, China and Tajikistan have worked close together and overcome all difficulties in the fight against the virus, achieving major achievements.

Under the preconditions of dong well epidemic control, the two sides have worked together to push the Belt & Road Initiative with an eye to the post-epidemic cooperation in major areas.

Wang said that it is necessary to fully display the role of the interactive border epidemic prevention mechanism and raise the throughput capacities of the border ports during the anti-epidemic period.

Tajikistan Foreign Minister Muhriddin thanked China for helping Tajikistan in the fight against the epidemic and appreciated China for making its vaccines global public good.

Tajikistan opposes any forces attacking and smearing China under the pretext of human rights, said Muhriddin, adding Tajikistan is willing to work with all parties to advance the jointly building of the Belt & Road Projects and promote all-round cooperation.
