Some overseas students are savoring traditional Chinese culture through colourful folk events in a university in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as the Lunar New Year approaches and festive atmosphere permeates everywhere.
The Guangxi Normal University for Nationalities organized activities such as writing Spring Festival couplets, creating a cultural environment for the overseas students who stay in China during the winter holiday.
The university facilities including some canteens, stores will remain open all the time, and sports and entertainment venues will open at designated time to ensure the normal life and study of students who stay on campus. Meanwhile, the university also has adopted anti-epidemic measures and encourage students to reduce unnecessary travels during the holiday especially to the high-risk areas of coronavirus resurgence.
“I’m very interested in trade. China has a very convenient environment for doing businesses, and that’s why I came. Besides, I like Chinese culture very much,” said a Chadian student.
Guangxi Normal University for Nationalities has taken advantage of its location in South China and along the routes of the Belt and Road Initiative in recent years to focus on training talents with a global vision and cross-cultural communication expertise so as to contribute to Belt and Road international cooperation.
