Czech President Milos Zeman will pay a working visit to China on April 24-29 to attend the second Belt and Road Forum in Beijing, the presidential office said in a statement on Sunday.
“The president of the republic will visit China for the fifth time, during the visit he will be accompanied by several government members and a delegation of Czech entrepreneurs,” the statement read.
The Belt and Road forum is said to be one of the key events during Zeman’s visit. The Czech president has expressed support to the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative in hope that it will help boost the Czech Republic’s Railway and Real Estate Industries.
The Belt and Road Initiative, which was first announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013, mainly focuses on the Maritime Silk Route, which connects China and Europe, and the land-based Silk Road Economic Belt, which includes Central Asia, Russia and the middle East.
