Northeast China’s Liaoning Province will improve its transportation infrastructure by investing 10 billion yuan ($1.47 billion) in the sector in 2019, the Xinhua News Agency reported on Monday.

The province will rebuild 4,000 kilometres of rural roads, as well as expanding logistics facilities to handle another 10 million tons of rail cargo and 88,000 more containers by rail or water, the report said.

Liaoning will also aim to further get involved in the construction of the Belt and Road initiative in 2019, according to Xinhua.
