The Chief Executive (CE), Fernando Chui Sai On, is going to attend the second ‘Belt and Road Forum’ (BRF) for International Co-operation to be held in Beijing from April 24 to 29, the Government Information Bureau (GCS) announced in a press release on Friday.
The Macau delegation will have 40 members, including government officials and representatives from industrial and commercial sectors, the government said.
The CE and the Secretary for Economy and Finance, Leong Leong Vai Tac, will deliver speeches in parallel sessions.
The Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced the holding of the Forum this morning, with the theme of ‘Belt and Road Co-operation, Shaping a Brighter Shared Future.’
Heads and leaders of 37 countries or governments will attend the Forum.
Chinese President Xi Jinping will deliver a keynote speech on the opening ceremony.
Some 12 sub-forums will be held during the Forum, while a conference will also be organised for the business community for the first time, mainland state media reported.
Moreover, after attending the Forum, the CE and the delegation will attend the opening of the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition on April 28.
Macau will have a presentation area at the exhibition, the press release stated.
