The Construction of Major Projects along the Route of New Western Sea and Land transportation channel is being accelerated in South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with the resumption all relevant key projects under construction.
The New Western Sea-Land transportation channel, connecting the Silk Road Economic Belt from the North, the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road from the South and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, strategically supports the country’s western regions in participating in international economic cooperation and promote deep integration of transportation, logistics and economy.
The project of building a smart industry town boasting multimodal platforms of logistics support is under construction in the China-Singapore Nanning International Logistics Park.
Relevant governmental departments have recently coordinated various sectors such as construction site electricity and material supplies and transportation to help resume the industry project construction.
“The relevant departments have been helping us to resume production as early as possible by meeting our needs. We will speed up the construction progress in the second and third quarters, so as to ensure its smooth delivery in June 2021,” said Yan Jiajun, Project Manager of the Logistics Park.
The Logistics Park is one of three major projects to promote the construction of new western sea-land transportation channel.
“After the completion of the park, it will form complementary advantages with international railway port in Nanning and promote effective integration of logistics resources, so as to create China- ASEAN multimodal transport development base to effectively advance the construction of new western sea-land transportation channel,” said Lei Zhonghua, Director of ASEAN Division in Guangxi Commerce Department.
As for the cargoes stranded in the Beibu Gulf Port under the the impact of the epidemic, the provincial government formulated preferential policies of corresponding fee reductions and exemptions to reduce logistics costs for enterprises. Meanwhile, green channels have been opened to guarantee the priority of raw materials and anti-epidemic supplies.
“We opened up green channels and optimised the transport organisation plan to reduce the time of Cargoes in Port. We’ve also strengthened communication and coordination to actively promote the advantages of sea-rail transportation in the new western sea-land transportation channel.
We will adjust the pricing scheme to expand sources for transportation along the channel,” said Qin Yong, Inspector with the Guangxi Development & Reform Commission.
Apart from the construction of the China-Singapore Nanning International Logistics Park and international railway port in Nanning, that of other key projects in the new western sea-land transportation channel such as the 300,000-ton terminal at Qinzhou Port and No.401 berth at Fangchenggang Port are also being accelerated as well.
