A 100 Episode micro documentary series jointly produced by China Media Group (CMG) and members of the Belt and Road Media Community was released worldwide on Monday to celebrate the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF), scheduled for April 25-27 in Beijing.
The 4K micro documentary, titled “From Chang’an to Rome”, is about the integration and communication between different civilisations from both historical and modern points of views. It explains the Silk Road spirit, which embodies peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit.
The production of the documentary was headed by CMG, Xi’an Broadcast and Television Station and Italian national broadcasting company Radiotelevisione italiana (RAI).
It starts by telling how the Silk Road took form some 2,000 years ago, during which Chang’an – the then-capital of China – and Italy’s ancient city of Rome were still too far away to communicate. A lot has happened along the road, and they have been recorded in history since then.
And it then goes on to tell how the Belt and Road Initiative has connected the two ancient cities once more, and benefited the people and cultures of the participating countries, writing a new chapter for the world’s communication and cooperation.
The documentary will be dubbed into many languages, including Chinese, English and Italian, and be broadcast on CMG’s new media platforms, the Chinese domestic video streaming websites, RAI’s website and Youtube.
It will also be broadcast on TV in countries around the world including China, Italy, the UK, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
