Mozambique’s President, Filipe Nyusi, praised the Chinese Initiative “Belt and Road Initiative”, reaffirming the country’s commitment to the international vision of Beijing, during a Signing Ceremony of various agreements with his Chinese counterpart.
President Nyusi said he was willing to play an “active role” in the construction of “Belt and Road Initiative” in sub-Saharan Africa.
A Network of Railways and Highways will connect the western region of China to Europe and the Indian Ocean, crossing Russia and Central Asia and there will be a Range of Ports in Africa and the Mediterranean waters that will strengthen the maritime links of the prosperous Chinese Coastal Cities.
The Chinese Project is “very important” for Mozambique and the African Continent and “benefits” the sustainable development and the growth of the world economy, he said.
President Nyusi is in Beijing to attend Second Belt and Road Forum. He was welcomed at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing by President, Xi Jinping. After the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of bilateral cooperation documents.
