The Sultanate Oman & the People’s Republic of China held a political talk session at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in which they affirmed their support for enhancing investment and tourism exchange between the two friendly countries within the framework of the Chinese Belt & Road Initiative, in order to achieve mutual benefits.”

The two sides also welcomed the entry into a joint agreement between the two countries for the mutual exemption of entry visas between the citizens of the two friendly countries, and the cooperation agreement in the field of science and technology.

During the session, views were also exchanged on a number of regional and international issues of common interest, stressing the importance of resolving disputes peacefully and through dialogue between various parties.

His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign and His Excellency Wang Yi, State Councilor & Chinese Foreign Minister, unveiled a monument to the Chinese navigator Zheng He, to be built in the city of Salalah as an expression of the symbolic significance of his visit to the Sultanate 600 years ago.
