The COVID-19 Pandemic has not affected the preparatory Construction of Block 7 of the Thermal Power Plant in Tuzla, some 120 km North of Sarajevo.
The Power Utility, Elektroprivreda of Bosnia & Herzegovina will allocate the advance of 214 million KM (123 million U.S. Dollars) to partnering construction companies by the end of this month, Senad Salkic, Executive Director for Capital Investment of Elektroprivreda of Bosnia & Herzegovina, said.
The Construction of Block 7, a 450 MW thermal power generator, is one of the biggest investments in the recent Bosnia & Herzegovina History worth 1.4 billion KM (810 million U.S. dollars).
It is one of the strategic projects ongoing in Bosnia & Herzegovina (BiH) under the Belt & Road Initiative and China and Central & Eastern European Countries (CEECs) Cooperation.
Salkic said that the Pandemic did not cause delays in the construction itself. Local companies have finished more than 80 percent of the 12 month preparatory construction which started in November 2019.
He added that the Elektroprivreda of Bosnia & Herzegovina hopes for the improvement of epidemiology situation before handing over the construction site to related Chinese Companies.
