The 3rd Chinese Theatre Awards Ceremony dropped its curtain Thursday in Guangzhou City of South China’s Guangdong Province.

The Award winners this year include original works from Hong Kong and Taiwan as well as masterpieces from the Chinese mainland.

Ni Dahong won the Best Actor honour for his performance in “Requiem”, while Yu Yan earned the Best Actress for “Blooming Flowers and Full Moon.”

The Restaged play Experimental Actors Studio not only keeps the vitality of the original story but also reflects the original aspiration and sentiment of the theatre practitioners, thus winning two awards of Best Rehearse and Best Producer.

The sponsors also recommended 10 dramas including The Teahouse and Sentinel under the Neon Light to pay tribute to the 70-year glorious development journey of Chinese drama.

Sponsored by China Association of Performing Arts and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province the Chinese Theatre Awards has become a platform for the exchange and cooperation of the drama industry in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao under the Belt & Road Initiative and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Strategy.

Through Cooperation with the world-renowned drama festivals, the influence of the Chinese Theatre Awards in the Greater Bay Area has kept growing.
