President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is to visit China on 24-27 April at the invitation of PRC President Xi Jinping to take part in the events of the Second International Forum “One Belt, One Road”, Uzbekistan’s Jahon Official Information Agency Reports.
More than 40 Heads of State and Government of Foreign Countries, International and Regional Organisations are expected to attend the forum.
The agenda includes discussion of issues pertinent to the enhancement of economic cooperation, intensification of interaction in search of new sources for long-term growth, promotion of green economy and innovation, and implementation of priority infrastructure projects in the region.
The Uzbek leader is to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Li Zhanshu.
The sides plan to discuss the consolidation of the Uzbek-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership as well as regional and international agenda.
The President of Uzbekistan will hold a number of bilateral talks with the heads of delegations of foreign countries and international organisations participating in the forum.
The second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation will be held from April 25 to 27 in Beijing.
The Belt and Road Initiative, proposed by China in 2013, aims at building a trade and infrastructure network connecting Asia with Europe and Africa along the ancient Silk Road trade routes to seek common development and prosperity.
